This Week's Story


This week’s story is Supertato!
Make sure you listen to the story before completing any of this week’s work.

After watching Supertato, I want you to have a look at the picture below. In school every morning, we complete an OWI. You all write on whiteboards about what you observe, what you wonder and what you infer using amazing adjectives to make your writing more interesting!

When you are writing sentences, it is so important that you make sure you include the following;
- A capital letter at the beginning of the sentence.
- Finger spaces throughout the sentence.
- A full stop at the end of the sentence.
- You must make sure your sentence makes sense by reading over it once you are finished.
Use this as a checklist when you are writing.

Look at these incorrect sentences:

The cat ran up the.

What has been missed out? Can you change them so they are correct? Use the checklist to help you!

I would like to know what you think about this picture. Can you write two observations, two wonders and one inference?
You can use these sentence starters if you would like to.

Oh no! The Evil Pea has snuck out of that freezer again and is causing chaos! He has sent us a letter.
Can you make a Wanted Poster to put up around the supermarket to help people find him?
Wanted posters usually have a title saying 'WANTED!' in capital letters, they have a picture of the who they are trying to find, a description using adjectives and a prize for the person who finds them!
Attached below are some examples of wanted posters. You can use the template for this work or you can make your own.


That Evil Pea is UNBELIEVABLE! The local newspaper have to be told so that everyone knows how crafty and cunning he really is.
Can you write a newspaper report to say what the Evil Pea has done? You can write this in the form of a recount like you did last week!
