This week we are going to be focusing on the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. Below are some activities that you can do with your child based on the story. Don't forget to show us some photographs on our Facebook page. We would love to see them.
If you have this story at home then share it with your child to familiarise them with the story. Otherwise you can listen to the story on the following website and then complete the suggested activities:
The caterpillar ate lots of different food. Can you make a simple food diary showing what you have eaten. You can use the template below or make your own booklet.
Matching the initial sound to food
Can you hear the initial sound in each of the foods and draw lines to match the food to the correct letter?
In the story the caterpillar eats different food on different days. Do you know how many days there are in a week? Can you name them? Learn some days of the week songs and see if you can cut and stick the days of the week in the correct order.
Time to get creative! Can you make a Hungry Caterpillar by painting your hands? See the instructions below.
We thought the children would love this activity for their health, fitness and wellbeing. Open the link below and join in with the yoga moves linked to the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.
Open up the following link for your child to play this ladybird game. Keep practicing reading your numbers and counting at home. You can make the game easier or harder by selecting the different options. Have fun!
