Mountain Explorers in Action! As part of our Geography topic on Mountains, we have been learning about how some mountains are formed Mountain Explorers in Action! As part of our Geography topic on Mountains, we have been learning about how some mountains are formed. Through a range of practical activities, we explored the processes that shape our world and investigated the forces at work beneath the Earth's surface. To showcase our understanding, we created and labelled detailed diagrams explaining the different stages of mountain formation. We had so much fun carrying out the experiments, although some of our model mountains didn't quite go to plan and exploded under the pressure! . What a way to end the week! We had an incredible whole-school assembly today with Rock Steady Music School, and what a brilliant time we had! The children loved learning all about different styles of music and discovering the instruments that come together to make a band. It was a wonderfully hands-on session, with pupils getting the chance to form their very own bands, try out different instruments and experience what it's like to make music together. Even the teachers couldn't resist getting involved! It's safe to say Rocksteady left us feeling inspired... so much so that some of our children went straight outside at playtime and created their very own boy band using the mud-kitchen utensils as instruments! We think we may have some future rock stars on our hands! Rocksteady leaflets will be coming home tonight with more information about the sessions and details of how your child can join Rocksteady as an extracurricular activity at school. A huge thank you to Rocksteady for such a fun, energetic and inspiring afternoon!
