Week Commencing - 15.06.2020

ACTIVITY 1

In this week's story, the rabbits down in the ground below a tree! I would like you to have a go at working out how old trees are. You might measure some when you go for a walk or maybe you are lucky and have trees in your garden. You will need a measuring tape and a calculator. Make sure you are measuring one metre from the ground and then find the circumference of the tree using a measuring tape (you will need to measure around the tree. You might need someone to help you with this bit if it's a tree with a chunky trunk). Using a calculator, divide the circumference by 2.5cm to give an approximate age for the tree! Take a picture of the trees you have measured with a sign saying how old it is.
