ALN transformation - WALES
We will update more information as soon as it is available.
At Porthcawl Primary School we are committed to planning and delivering a differentiated curriculum to meet the needs of all learners. Regular monitoring and assessment of pupils' progress enables teachers to support pupils to ensure they can achieve their full potential. Pupils are supported by Teachers, Learning Support Officers and other adults within the school to ensure their needs are catered for in an inclusive way.
At times pupils will face difficulties that will need further support. If a teacher feels that your child requires further support you will be contacted and invited into school to discuss any difficulties that have been noticed. As a parent / carer if you have any concerns please discuss with your childs class teacher.
There are 3 levels of support as defined in the SEN Code of Practice (2002):
Class action - changes are made at class level to support pupils E.g. additional support or resources
School action - An IEP (Individual Education Plan) will be written involving parents and the child
School Action + - If it is necessary to involve external support
