Welcome to classes 2 and 3

Following on from the success of the new Foundation Phase unit in the

Nursery and Reception classes, Class 2 and 3 are adopting a similiar

approach to the new curriculum being phased in for all 3 to 7 year olds.

The children have free access to two classrooms and an outside area.

Each morning they start  off in their base rooms and then complete a range

of activities in each area  throughout the day with different members of staff.

Jolly Phonics information

After our successful parents evening to introduce the 'Jolly Phonics'

scheme we have provided a link to the Jolly Phonics site and some

useful information, we hope it is of some help.  If you have any queries

about 'Jolly Phonics' and the approaches used please come and ask

a member of staff.

 Classes 2 and 3 information

   Hello and welcome.

Our teachers are Mrs Arnold and Mrs Jones, Mrs Letman is the LSO for

the classes.

Due to the Foundation phase being developed in classes 2 and 3 we are

currently implementing new exciting topics which will be taught to both

year groups.

During the Spring term we completed a topic entitled 'Barnaby Bear in

North Wales' where we investigated map reading and the countryside

and how to respect and look after it

As part of our winter term topic for language we read the 'Stickman' by

Julia Donaldson.

Our summer term was the theme linked to the sea where we discovered the

life it holds, the Pirates above it and the lighthouses, lifeboats and lifeguards

that help to keep us safe.
